Maju Expressway (KL-Putrajaya Highway)

The Dedicated Highway is a 42km expressway that links Kuala Lumpur to the new KL International Airport, Sepang. The Concession for the project was signed in Oct’1997 and was deferred in Dec’1998 after the economic crisis and later reactivated in July 2002. After which, the project was renamed Kuala-Lumpur Putrajaya Highway (KLPH). Only the stretch between Kuala Lumpur – Putrajaya (26km) was implemented. The remaining 16km from Putrajaya to KLIA was deferred to a later date. HSSI were the detailed design consultants for the project which comprised 10km of viaduct in the busy Kuala Lumpur area and 16km of at-grade section.

The scope of work comprised;

  • Five (5) nos of interchanges at Jln Tun Razak/Kg.Pandan, Salak Selatan,Kuchai Lama, Bt.Jalil and  Putrajaya
  • Two (2) rest & service areas with a full range of facilities
  • Two (2) toll plazas, supervision building, administration building, maintenance depot.
  • 10km of viaduct and 16km of at-grade section.
  • Ground treatment comprised pile embankments, stone columns and excavation & replacement
